Project Engineer

Objective

The Project Engineer develops the hardware and software associated with safeguarding and control systems. The Project Engineer manages one or multiple projects concurrently.

Beldick Automation is a provider of industrial automation solutions for companies active in petrochemicals, oil & gas production and refining as well as power generation industries. Beldick Automation has a track record of designing and constructing control and safeguarding systems that meet the highest standards in reliability, safety and environmental performance. Key products include Burner Management Systems for gas and oil combustion applications, Process Control Systems for HRSG units (Heat Recovery Steam Generation) and the safeguarding and control of industrial heating processes and oil & gas treatment processes. All systems adhere to Functional Safety (IEC 61508) standards.

Beldick Automation is based in Ede, Netherlands and employs some 15 staff.

The role

Key tasks are as follows:

• Analyse P&ID’s and Cause & Effect Diagrams provided by clients
• Analyse and comment on Control Philosophies provided by clients
• Design system hardware lay-out and interfaces with other systems
• Develop Functional Logic Diagrams and Sequential Flowcharts
• Design graphics, alarm handling and other aspects of user interfaces
• Support in-house implementation and testing
• Support SIL calculations in line with Functional Safety requirements
• Commission systems, both in-house and on site
• Co-ordinate the work of other BDA engineers and staff on a project basis
  and manage contact with the client

The Project Engineer reports to the Manager Engineering.

Minimum qualifications and requirements

• BSc in Process Engineering, Control Systems, Electrical or Electronics Engineering;
• Hands-on experience in design or commissioning of Process Control systems, safeguarding systems or Scada systems;
• Experience with Siemens, HIMA, Alan Bradley or Honeywell PLC’s is an advantage;
• Experience with field instrumentation is an advantage;
• Project management skills;
• Fluent in English;
